The Spay Neuter Project of Los Angeles (SNPLA) is celebrating its 200,000th spay/neuter surgery which has us feline grrrateful.

Pickles, Rover and Fido were just 5 days old when were brought to the shelter. They had a hard time transitioning to the bottle without mom, but the task was not insurmeowntable, thanks to their SNPLA foster.

KATNISS: I remember being in the shelter with my siblings. But you three were younger, more furragile.

Fido in a purrito

PICKLES: You’re not kitten – we were were special needs babies who required lots of round the clock care —

ROVER:  — Bottle feeding every couple of hours —

FIDO: — We were wrapped in purritos and snuggled furequently to help us tame down.

Pickles

KATNISS: Your foster meowm did a great job with you – you are all so playful, healthy and purrfectlly adoptable.

PICKLES: We hope so!

FIDO: And we’re so grrrateful to SNPLA for fixing our mom so she doesn’t have to keep churning out litters of kittens every six months.

Rover

KATNISS: Wow, that is litter-ally a lot of kittens pawtentially out on the street.

PICKLES: Not any meowr!

KATNISS: It sounds like SNPLA has made a pawsitive impact, helping people spay and neuter their cats – and dogs, as well.

Pickles

FIDO: And they work with rescues like Best Friends Animal Society, Friends for Life Rescue Network, Kitten Rescue, SPCALA, Stray Cat Alliance and 4 of the 6 LAAS shelters.

KATNISS: I know those rescues – that’s pawesome!

PICKLES: SNPLA is having a big pawty and everyone’s invited. Here – read the purress release!

KATNISS: “SNPLA is celebrating its 200,000th spay/neuter surgery with the Million Pet Soirée on September 21st, 2019 from 7-9pm. This elegant evening is brought to you by Wallis Annenberg PetSpace and the Annenberg Foundation. The event is a mingling of LA’s most influential animal advo-cats and admirers. Offurings include plant-based dinner by world-famous Vromage, a dessert buffet brought to you by East LA’s Cake Girl, a purrize oppurrtunity drawing featuring your favfurite pet purroducts from local boutiques and national retailers and, finally, a kitten cuddle with graduates of SNPLA’s Kitten Lifesaving Purrogram!”

PICKLES: That’s us!

KATNISS: “All funds go straight to work purroviding critically impurrtant services that would otherwise not be available to many local pets. The goal for the evening is to raise funds to purrform free spay/neuter surgery for 300 low income pets, to make veterinary care accessible to 90 additional cats and dogs and to fund the medical costs of 20 special needs kittens.”

FIDO: We hope your followers will come! It sounds like a supurr cool event!

KATNISS: If it helps kittens like you get the chance to live comfurtable and safe lives in loving homes, I’d think they’ll pounce at the chance.
