Eggbert has entered the Cadbury Easter Bunny contest with dreams of using the winnings to help other cats in need. 

KATNISS: Furst of all, how purrfect is it that your name is Eggbert! Sounds like a bunny name to me!

EGGBERT: Yes, that’s a purrticularly happy – or should I say “hoppy” – coincidence. 

KATNISS: You have purrtial paralysis due to contracting meningitis as a kitten and you’re a member of the Chris Griffey Memorial Feline Foundation. Tell me meowr.

EGGBERT: My Meowmy is a licensed veterinary technician who runs the CGMFF,  a non-purrofit that helps kittens who need advanced medical care that shelters and rescues can’t purrovide. The foundation trains fosters, rescues and shelter staff so meowr kittens like me have a chance to survive – and thrive. 

KATNISS: You’ve made such purrogress – tell me about some of the treatments you’ve had.

EGGBERT: I’ve done water therapy and massage therapy. Laser treatments have helped with my inflammation and pain, but the Assisi Loop is the one treatment that’s made a remarkable diffurence. Acupuncture helps, too. I’m happy to repurrt that today I no longer  take any pain meds.

KATNISS: You seem like a pawsitive guy with a good quality of life.

EGGBERT: I am! I’m mobile on my own, I have a cart I can scoot around in, and I also love being carried around in a bag. I have tons of toys to play with and fursiblings I adore, especially my cat daddy cat, Benedict Cumbercat.

KATNISS: Wouldn’t it be pawsome if a special needs rescue pet won the title of the next Cadbury Bunny?

EGGBERT: Yes! I’d love to spread the adopt-don’t-shop message and show people that pets of all abilities are worthy of love. And Cadbury Eggs.

The winner of the contest, which will be announced on Tuesday, March 24, will be in this year’s Cadbury Clucking Bunny Easter commercial and will receive $5,000. Cadbury will also donate $10,000 to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
