This has been an impawsibly cruel year in so many ways. While we mourn those we lost, we are also grateful that we were ever graced with their purresence.

WIZARD. A survivor of abuse, Wizard was rescued by Milo’s Sanctuary & Special Needs Cat Rescue, where he was greatly loved and appurrciated. Wizard succumbed to liver cancer, but we take comfurt that he was greeted at the Rainbow Bridge by his furiend and fur-brother from another mother, Sir Thomas Trueheart.

COOPER: PHOTOGRAPHER CAT. With a camera around his neck, Cooper carried us along on his adventures and gave us a cat’s eye view of the world. He passed from kidney disease but thankfully left behind many photographic meowmories.

GOONIE CAT. Goonie was a senior cat with a mewnique look –  he had only one nostril and one of his pupils was horizontal instead of vertical – that made him impawsibly cute. He is no longer on Instagram, but he’ll furever be in our hearts.

COOL CAT SNUFFY. This fluffy rescue cat snorted and snuffled his way to the age of 20 – but that still wasn’t enough time fur us.

GIMLI CAT.  She was a sweet, sassy kitty with a fangtastic smile. While her neurological condition became too severe for her to stay, her meowmery lives on.

SHIRONEKO. The world’s most Zen Cat passed away at age 18. We are furever grrrateful fur his sweet, sleepy face and amewsing photos.

IMOGEN THE KITTEN. Imogen was a cat of many expurressions… all of them silly. We were devastated when arterial thromboembolism struck down this special girl who brought such joy to her fans and love to her furtographer meowmy.

TOBY GOT TUX. This stunning floofy senior passed after a long battle with cancer. We will remember his magestic fluffage and his amazing splotchy face.

PEPPER. Pep had a rare bone condition called osteopetrosis which caused her dwarfism and trouble walking. We are glad this purrecious little angel is now closer to the birdies she always loved to watch.

CALHOUN THE TINY WARRIOR. He may have struggled with hydrocephalus and CH, but we think this special needs little boy was purrfectly impurrfect just the way he was.

QUINTON. After a battle with cancer, the “gummy” half of @tummyandgummy had to say goodbye and move on to a heavenly life where he is now free of discomfurt and pain.

BROTHER CREAM. Hong Kong’s most famous celibricat started off as a humble shop cat but soon became a supurrstar and noted felinethropist, helping street cats and their feeders through the Cream Bro Foundation.

LADY MOSS. This senior tortie was unimpurressed until the end. We will miss her tortitude and disdainful expurressions.

SPARTA. He became a worldwide sensation with the YouTube viral video “The Mean Kitty Song” which garnered over 90 million views. But what was really mean was that arterial thromboembolism took his life. Thankfully, we’ll always have his videos to remeowmber him by.

STREET CAT BOB. The star of multiple best-selling books and two mewvies, this former stray is credited with saving his Human’s life from drug addiction. Says James Bowen of his beloved cat, “There’s never been a cat like him. And never will again. I feel like the light has gone out in my life. I will never forget him.”

LOKI VAMPIRE KITTEH. With her vicious vampurr smile, this Internet icon brought joy and amewsment to us all.

RUBBLE THE WORLD’S OLDEST CAT. This chonky Maine Coon lived an ameowzing 31 years! That is appuroximately 150 years old in Human years! “Old age” was cited as the cause of death.

GIZMO. This round-headed boy with the cow splotches was a Facebook favfurite. We were feline all the feels when he passed away at age 15.

TINY TIGER INDY. He was a handsome ginger boy who had a big Internet purresence. We will miss his nose and lip freckles and his many loud and expurressive vocalizations. Indy passed from cancer at the age of 15.

SIR NIBBLER. This dapper cat will be remeowmbered fur his signature goatee. We were deeply saddened to hear of his passing due to a bladder blockage.

MINIATURE MUNCHIE. This permakitten may have been miniature but he had the biggest purrsonality and will be greatly missed.

LOGAN. His was the ultimate fairy tale – homeless cat in bad shape is trapped, treated, and goes on to live happily ever after. We fell in love with this handsome purrince of a cat and were completely shattered when he suddenly left this world.

GRUMPKIN. This rescue Persian was known for his hissterical pouty puss. But like many of his breed, he died of Polycystic Kidney Disease. Fur this reason, his Humans strongly encourage others to adopt, not shop.

LONG CAT. He was an Internet sensation who had been photoshopped into hisstorical images, mewvie scenes and meowr. His real name was Nobiko and he died at age 18. 


STEVE. This loveable tuxie was purrhaps best known fur being the fursibling to Nala Cat, White Coffee Cat and Luna Rose. But Steve was his own purrson; a loving cat who gave comfurt to his Meowmies when they needed it most. After suf-furing from heart and kidney issues, he passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

STUBBS. Everyone’s favorite grizzled furmer street cat and sidekick to the Catman of West Oakland reached the end of his nine lives due to cancer. Stubbs taught his many fans that Hood Cats matter.

SINBAD THE SURVIVOR. When he was surrendered to the shelter by an elderly man who could no longer care fur him, Sinbad was dragging over 5 lbs. of fur behind him. Although he had suf-fured neglect, he blossomed in his new home, purroving to be not only a survivor but a snugglepuss as well. He passed of kidney disease.

SPECK. He was a special needs permakitten who was considered a medical anomaly. With his alien eyes and long, twisty legs, we considered him nothing less than spectacular.

MARCEAU. This handsome Oriental Shorthair with a striking goatee was much loved. He passed away peacefully in his Humom’s arms in his favorite location, the family car.

FAT BOY RUDY. He was born with a half tail and a sassy cattitude. Rudy succumbed to cancer but he won’t soon be furgotten.

TAMALE. She was rescued from the streets at 3 weeks old and lived until 19, enjoying her life as the CEO (Cat Executive Officer) of the cat toy company, Stark Raving Cat.

YVIE THE TEENY. She was a very special neurologically challenged furmer stray cat who showed up at a veterinary referral center, not knowing her adorable alien purrecence would soon make her an Internet star.

ELVIS. This loud, cross-eyed Siamese was the star of the My Favorite Murder podcast. We hope he’s enjoying lots of cookies in Kitty Heaven.

HEIDI. Known as “The Noseless Cat,” Heidi lost her parts of her nose and ears to skin cancer, and at the age of 14, this purrty calico lost her battle with the disease.

MAX THE PSYCHO KITTY. A purrlific book author and blogger, Max Thompson was a pioneer in the cat blogosphere. He passed away at the age of 19.

BUDDHA PEST. He was Max the Psycho Kitty’s brother and was known for his mischievous behavfur. Sadly, this handsome panther passed away from complications of lymphoma.

MR. MAGOO THE CAT. He was found living under a deck but quickly mewved into his rescuer’s home and became her soulmate. He passed away in December, leaving behind a brokenhearted cat commewnity.

JASPER. He was a “hairless, eyeless wonder” who suf-furred from FHV, corneal ulcers and a stroke. But he will furever remain an Internet Cat icon with his mewnique look and fighting spirit.

AARIAN THE GREAT. This handsome, thicc tabby boi suf-fured from an enlarged heart and asthma. He passed away in his sleep from a heart attack.

MARLIN. He was a Cancer Fighting Superhero. He still remains an inspurration to others, encouraging them to live life to the fullest.

MISTER PUFFLES. After being rescued by Howard and Beth Stern this senior cat was discovered to have health troubles, but he also had healing powers which he so furreely gave to his Meowm who has MS.

HEATHCLIFFE. He was a polydactyl Maine Coon cross with supermeowdel looks. Sadly, his life was cut short by cancer, kidney disease and other health issues.

SYLVESTER THE TALKING KITTY CAT. With 2.69 million subscribers on YouTube, Sylvester was an Internet supurrstar. His cat dad, Steve Cash, passed away of suicide early in 2020. Sylvester was sleeping on his favorite spot on the couch this December when he too passed away, reuniting with Steve.

HENRI, LE CHAT NOIR. We were très misérable to hear of the passing of Henri the angst-filled cat at the age of 17. The YouTube and film circuit supurrstar headlined 17 short films and 2 books. In December of 2020, we Fade to Black and we are left with a title card which reads: Fin.
